If you like my work, buy me a beer. (Suggested: 3€ for a beer, or more for more beer ;-) )Tags: Android, SqueezeBox, SqueezeCommander

Hi,
Where’s the context menu for sleep/alarm? I can’t find it
aha, never mind, I’ve found it. Long press on the player
Good to hear that you found it!
Ah, I was having trouble finding that one as, well. Gonna test it tonight!

I have the sony ericson x10 mini, but cant get the squeezecommander for that phone. Maybe its due to the 320×240 screen resolution. will it be possible to get it for x10 mini in the future?
promise i’ll get you that beer if it happens:-)
Just bought the app – fantastic. Was about to purchase a duet controller, this gives me all I need. Thanks.
We have 3 android phones in the house – would I have to purchase this three times, or can I install it on multiple phones ?
Thanks
slumbert,
SqueezeCommander runs fine on a SE X10 mini (I’ve got several beta testers with such a device).
Where are you living?
Can you buy other paid apps through the Android Market?
Unfortunately, Google does not offer paid apps in all countries, therefore I’ve also added SqueezeCommander to SlideME:
https://slideme.org/application/squeeze-commander
SlideME offers paid apps in almost any country, you only need access to a credit card or you can use Amazon payments.
Julian,
The license is bound to your Google Checkout account.
If you use the same account in the Android Market on all phones, you should be able to install the App for free.
Hi Christian,
android ATT flattermann DOTT net,
)
Hi !
I am trying to download this app in market but the link is broken.
how do i do to solve this ?
Have tried slideme but can’t install sam 3.5
Nisse69,
SqueezeCommander cannot be found in the Android Market if Google does not offer paid apps in your country.
But SlideME should work fine in almost any country.
What specific problem do you have when installing SAM?
You need to allow 3rd party apps in Android through
(Home Screen) / MENU / Applications.
If you need assistance, you can also contact me by email at

Is there a forum set up for this app? I’ve been trying to do something simple like play music at random from my music and can’t seem to see where to do that?
slimchance,
you can use the thread in the slimdevices forum:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69352
Unfortunately, Random play does not work yet, but I’m working on it.
I hope that the next major release will include support for random play and SqueezePlay menus (for plugins like TrackStat, Biography, …).

GREAT APPLICATION !!!!
Hello,
I just got a Squeezebox and downloaded Squeeze Commander. But it won’t connect to my server automatically, and when I enter it manually it fails to connect as well. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? I’m on a Mac running OS X.
Thanks,
Rob
Just bought the app (paid 4.99 on SlideMe and not 2.99
). Looks good but I have 2 immediate big issues:
1. It does not seem to remember my music source. I have to pick between my local music server an squeezebox.com EVERY time.
2. I have no access to the current playlist??? I cannot seem to get to and edit/influence the currently playing list. All the other free apps have this. Mybe I’m just stupid or is it a major oversight???
Rob,
Can you reach the Server through the WebUI from a computer?
Does it run on port 9000?
Please try the following to check if the server is reachable from your phone:
- Open a web browser on your phone:9000 by the IP of your SBS and 9000 by the actual
- Open the page at http://
(replace
port number)
Does this work?
If it does not work, can you access the WebUI (http://yourserverip:9000) from another computer in the WLAN?
Maybe your router denies traffic between WLAN and LAN?
Best regards,
Christian
Yeah, it’s 4.99$ (@SlideME) and 2.99€ (@Android Market).
(BTW: That’s still the “special offer price” for early adopters and will go up as soon as version 1.0 is ready.)
1. Hmm, that’s strage.
Normally, SqueezeCommander should always reconnect to the last connected server.
What happens in your case?
Is it random to which server it connects?
Or doesn’t it connect automatically at all?
BTW: SqueezeCommander only connects automatically when connected through WLAN.
If you are using Mobile Internet to access your server and MySB, you may want to set the “Ignore Wifi” option in the Settings.
2. Swipe right-to-left in the NowPlayingScreen to get to the current playlist.
(Swipe left-to-right to get back to the PlayerServerScreen)
Christian
Hi,
android ATT flattermann DOTT net
LG Christian
Hi Christian,
Danke dir!
Hi
I have a Sony Ericsson X10 mini pro, but cannot get the squeezecomander work
The problem is that the program can not find the server and is set up right with ip 192.xxx.xxx.xxx:9000 .I can run squeezeserver from this address (on my computer) but not from the phone.
Could it be the phone that fails (can see someone else has a similar problem)?
It must be said that I have Squeezeserveren installed on a HPmediesmart server, but it would probably illle be a problem?
Hi,
Just purchased your app. Works way better than the free ones.
Also had to get it through SlideMe, as in Belgium the market shows no paid apps.
I’ve got these questions:
- How to I get updates, eg. 0.9.6, does the app check or do I have to check on SlideMe (sorry new to Android app management)
- Trackstat, SQL Playlist, Dynamic Playlist on the server delivers me the option to use smart playlists on a Nokia N810. Any chance this is something that will be implemented in SqueezeCommander too ?
Thanks in advance.
Janiek
Christian,
Christian
Casmic,
Have you tried to open the SBS WebUI page on the phone?:
- Open the web browser on your phone
- Open the page http://192.xxx.xxx.xxx:9000 in the browser
If the WebUI does not open either, it seems to be a problem with your WLAN or firewall.
Please check the settings of your WLAN router and make sure that traffic between WLAN and LAN is not blocked.
PS: I don’t think that this is the problem, but just to be sure:
You only need to insert the “192.xxx.xxx.xxx” in the IP field of SqueezeCommander, there’s a separate text box for the port number.
Christian
Janiek,
you should be able to update within the SAM app.
I’m not sure if it notifies you about updates or if you need to check it manually…
You could also subscribe to the RSS feed of my site to see the updates or check the thread in the SlimDevices forum at http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69352.
Trackstat rating support is included in 0.9.5.
Trackstat playlist, SQL playlist, Dynamic playlist and so on will definitely be included in a future version.
Christian
Dear Christian,
I don’t understand what it is not possible to do with SQLPlaylist in SqueezeCommander.
Can you explain ?
I use SQLPlayList to wakeup. Is it possible to select this SQL playlist in the Alarm setting ?
I configure the SQLPlayList in my WebBrowser using SQL command.
Is it possible to see and play this SQLPlayList in SqueezeCommander ?
I plan to buy a ARCHOS 43
http://www.archos.com/products/ta/archos_43it/index.html?country=fr&lang=fr
Is it supported for SqueezeCommander ?
FYI : I don’t found SqueezeCommander in Android Market.
esa,
The alarm playlist are loaded from the server, i.e. if you can select the SQL playlist as alarm through the WebUI (http://yourserver:9000), it should also work in SqueezeCommander.
(How do you set an SQLPlayList as alarm at the moment?)
By not supported, I mean you cannot access the “Extras” menu in SqueezeCommander, i.e. you cannot e.g. edit a SQLPlayList within SqueezeCommander, yet.
I have not tried the app on an Archos 43, but SqueezeCommander should run fine on this device.
AFAIK, Android Market should support paid apps in Belgium now, but if it does not work, you may also use SlideME:
https://slideme.org/application/squeeze-commander
