I’ve not tried Android@Joggler for some time.
The Apps that I’ve tried worked fine so far (aside from the slow UI).
The x86 cpu should normally not be a problem because most Apps are written in pure Java.
Only some graphic/sound demanding Apps that are using native code (NDK) will probably not work on x86.

Hi there . Interesting information regarding joggler running android. I was just wondering if you tried installing the android app ‘torque’ on the joggler yet? Planning to get a joggler soon. I’ve heard most of the android apps wont work on the joggler since it have a x86 cpu and have incompatibility issues.

Thanks, I have discovered that netmask isn’t essential for ethernet. Sound works.
I can’t get anything from wifi and relocating desktop icons has stopped working as it is, as you state, a bit slow!

I’m not aware of a newer Android image. :-/

Unfortunately, I’m pretty busy at the moment, therefore I do not have time to improve the image.
I published the image (along with the steps how to create it) hoping that somebody else could continue the development…

To be honest, I’ve switched my Jogglers to Debian Squeeze in the meantime, because Android’s GUI was way to slow on the Joggler for me…

but am having issues.

No sound.
Netmask keeps being forgotten.
Wireless not working.
Unable to relocate clock widget.

I’ve managed to connect to the internet via ethernet but it
disconnects (blank Netmask).

Am I using the best img for the O2 Joggler or is there another?

The Wiki was down for some days but it seems to work again now.
The download through bittorrent ( http://www.flattermann.net/files/joggler/android-joggler-20100424.tar.gz.torrent ) should work.

I would really like to try this image out but I can’t seem to download it from anywhere. The links on the website are broken and every search takes me back to teh same place, a broken download.

I also have the problem mentioned when the wireless shows as “Not in range, remembered” after credentials are entered.

Hi,

Thanks for the great work! I downloaded your image and it works well over wired ethernet, with sound, and I was able to install apps.

However, I cannot get the wifi connection to work. I’ve ruled out hardware incompatibility (as I can connect fine with both the stock firmware and with an ubuntu image), and I’m really confused.

When I enable wi-fi, all nearby access points show up in the list, and mine shows up ‘Remembered, secured with WPA2′. Wi-Fi shows up as ‘Disconnected’. After less than a minute, , all of the other networks disappear, and my network shows up as ‘Not in range, remembered’.

Has anyone else experienced this or similar?

Anyone got any succsess at getting the market up and running on the Joggler? Or at the very least, the Android Spotify app?
