		<description>What you have measured with the dd write command is not the disk write speed. dd will return as soon as everything has been written to memory -- the write to the disk is done in the background.

If you want even remotely reasonable numbers, carry out a &quot;sync&quot; before and after the write and measure the time from the start of dd to the end of the second sync command.
